The Richardson Police Department is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred early Sunday morning, August 3, 2025, at approximately 3:40 a.m.

An employee at a business located in the 100 block of E. Spring Valley Road called 911 to report that he had been robbed at gunpoint. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

Responding officers began searching the surrounding area and located a male matching the description across the street at the DART Spring Valley Station, 100 W. Spring Valley Road. Upon seeing the officers, the subject fled on foot. During the pursuit, the subject displayed a handgun, prompting one of the officers to discharge their weapon. The subject was not struck or injured and was taken into custody without further incident.

The individual has been identified as a juvenile, and in accordance with legal protocols, his name will not be released. Detectives continue to investigate the robbery.
