RICHARDSON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle that occurred on June 1, 2026, at approximately 5:13 p.m. in the 1400 block of East Arapaho Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a Toyota Avalon was exiting a parking lot southbound and preparing to turn west onto East Arapaho Road. A bicyclist traveling eastbound on the sidewalk, which crosses the parking lot entrance/exit, collided with the passenger side of the Toyota.

Richardson Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the bicyclist, identified as 19-year-old Ngan Thi Xuan Nguyen, to a local hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, Nguyen later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the Toyota, was not injured.

The Richardson Police Department's Special Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation.
