RICHARDSON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a pickup truck that occurred on June 20, 2026, at approximately 11:05 a.m. in the 1400 block of West Spring Valley Road.

Officers responded to the scene and located an adult female pedestrian who had been struck by a pickup truck. Paramedics with the Richardson Fire Department transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The pedestrian has been identified as 42-year-old Elvira Peralta Hernandez.

The Richardson Police Department's Special Crash Investigation Team is conducting the investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that Hernandez was crossing West Spring Valley Road at a location other than a designated crosswalk when she was struck by the pickup truck that was westbound.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and remained at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
