The Richardson Police Department invites members of the community to attend the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind LEGO® replica of the Richardson Police and Fire Public Safety Campus on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Richardson Police Department, located at 200 N. Greenville Ave.

Created entirely from LEGO bricks by Garland Police Officer John Capers, the detailed replica showcases the Richardson Police and Fire Department Public Safety Campus in remarkable detail. Officer Capers is well known for his LEGO building expertise and previously completed a LEGO replica of the Garland Police Department and Garland Downtown Square a few years ago. He generously offered his talents to create a similar display for Richardson.

The project was made possible through the generous support of the Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (RCPAAA), whose funding brought the vision to life. Without the organization's commitment to supporting the Richardson Police Department and fostering community engagement, this unique project would not have been possible. Following the unveiling ceremony, the LEGO replica will be permanently displayed in the main lobby of the Richardson Police Department, where residents and visitors can enjoy it during normal business hours.

"This incredible display is more than just an impressive work of art, it represents the strong partnerships that exist between our department, our neighboring law enforcement agencies, and the community we proudly serve," said Richardson Police Chief Gary Tittle.

"I want to sincerely thank Officer John Capers for sharing his extraordinary talent and dedicating countless hours to this project. I also want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association for their generosity in funding this display. Their support made this project possible, and together they have created something that will inspire pride, spark conversations, and bring our community together for years to come."

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the unveiling and see this unique piece of craftsmanship where it becomes a permanent feature in the department's lobby.
