The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., Richardson patrol officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Buckingham Road following a reported crash involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers found the driver of one of the vehicles unconscious on the ground after he had been ejected during the collision. The driver was identified as 70-year-old Hagos Wldemical. He was transported by Richardson Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.

The Richardson Police Department's Special Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary information indicates that Wldemical was driving westbound on East Buckingham Road when the driver of a second vehicle, traveling eastbound, attempted to make a left turn into an apartment complex. The second vehicle struck the driver's side of Wldemical's vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to process evidence and interview witnesses. No additional information is available at this time.
